Etihad enhances Scandinavian connectivity in strategic codeshare deal with SAS

Etihad Airways and Scandinavian Airlines (SAS) have signed a strategic codeshare agreement, so customers of both airlines will enjoy enhanced connectivity to destinations across each other’s networks.  Guests can book on a single ticket and only have to check in once at the start of their flight, with their baggage checked through to their end destination.  Arik De, Etihad’s Chief Revenue Officer said: “Our strategic bilateral agreement with SAS, coming after the start of our flights to Copenhagen, allows more seamless travel for our guests from Northern Europe to enjoy Abu Dhabi, and to connect with our growing global network, including our expanding destinations in the Indian Sub-Continent, East Asia, Middle East, and Africa.  “The tie-in gives our guests one-stop access across Scandinavia to destinations including Oslo, Stockholm, Helsinki, Gothenburg, Bergen and Aarhus.  “This agreement is just the latest in our mission to strengthen Abu Dhabi’s cultural and economic growth by welcoming more guests to our home enjoying enhanced travel benefits and greater treasured experiences.”  SAS Executive, Vice President and Chief Commercial Officer Paul Verhagen, said: “We are happy for the opportunity to introduce a new codeshare agreement with Etihad Airways.  “This partnership expands the choices available to SAS customers for journeys to Abu Dhabi and beyond, with connections to India, the Seychelles, Sri Lanka and more. Etihad dares to do the Mission Impossible

Etihad is in news once again for the right reasons. In its recent campaign it showed its airline’s cabin crew jumping off a plane while playing different music instruments. Now the company has released its ‘Behind the scenes’ of this shoot, which also is becoming viral.  The video went viral gaining over 1.2 million views on Etihad’s YouTube channel and was covered by all major local media outlets. It was conceptualized and developed by Impact BBDO, which took inspiration from the theme of Mission Impossible. This was the final one in a series of films that showed Etihad’s cabin crew accomplishing the impossible. These short ad films included missions such as being reliably punctual, big smiles and being excessively attentive and more.For these advertisements Etihad had joined hands with Paramount Pictures to become its official airline partner for Mission Impossible: Dead Reckoning Part One.Revealing ‘Behind the Scenes’Etihad has now come up releasing the ‘behind the scene’ shoot of the ad. The behind-the-scenes videos was a revelation to a lot of questions in minds of views like whether it was the real cabin crew or stunt professionals who were featured and if they were really playing the instruments up in the air.The video also reveals the entire process and the people involved in the entire production of the video, from the creative, the production and the shoot.
